This week, host Tim Regan is joined by Nick Becker, the owner of Aspire Gymnastics Academy in Joliet, Illinois, to discuss how you can plan your lifestyle, health choices, and longevity for a more fulfilling life.
Health can be an overwhelming concept, especially when you consider that every single decision – from the movements you make to the foods you eat and even the amount of sleep you get – each contribute to or detract from your overall wellness.
Today, we’re teaming up with special guest Nick Becker to explore what you need to know about health, such as how being intentional about what you consume can significantly impact both your health outcomes and financial savings (regardless of your age). And just like with your finances, the small everyday decisions you make now will likely shape your future retirement.
Nick joins the podcast to answer questions about:
- How various diets and lifestyle choices, such as the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting, can boost mental clarity, energy levels, and overall health.
- The importance of proactively addressing health issues to optimize hormone levels, leading to improved energy levels, mood, and quality of life.
- How the decisions you make today can impact your overall longevity
One of Nick’s intentional health decisions involves fasting, which is planned periods of time without consuming food.
“The aging process is really your cells not multiplying as fast as they did,” he explains. “So you’re killing more cells than you’re producing and that’s where the aging comes in. When you do this fasting cycle, your cells are not dying off as fast and they’re starting to multiply faster than they would if you’re constantly eating.”
He also explores how ice baths can help your body heal faster and provide mental clarity.
“If you’re doing all this preventive maintenance stuff and you’re feeling good, you’re not going to reach for that cookie.”
